Bachelor's degree in Engineering, preferably geotechnical focus
Engineer in Training (EIT) certificate
Experience with MS Office, GIS, and CADD, as appropriate
A positive attitude and willingness to learn while working with a dynamic group
Requirements
Develop geotechnical engineering calculations and perform analyses in support of designs, plans, and specifications, for transportation infrastructure projects
Conduct analyses to develop design options or recommendations and assist in the preparation of technical documents such as technical memoranda and geotechnical reports
Perform routine engineering assignments requiring application of standard techniques and procedures
Conduct slope stability, settlement, and other soil/rock analyses associated with geotechnical engineering studies
Complete projects with clear, specified objectives and limited variables
Perform field work consisting of construction observations, field investigations, and site reconnaissance
Work independently on small projects or assist more-senior engineers on larger projects
Give direction to clerical and technical personnel, as needed
Perform field investigations including logging soil and rock borings, instrumentation installation, some inspection and construction observations
Perform other duties as needed
